The calendar is a record of cases brought to trial before the U.S. District Court for the Territory of Dakota, Second Judcial District. Entries are similar to those of an appearance docket for admiralty, criminal and civil actions, and include the case title, term number, county in which the proceedings were held, attorneys for the parties, and an occasional list of papers filed and proceedings held. The extent of information recorded for any individual case varies greatly from term to term and in some instances within terms.
